CBFK BACKGROUND_
College Bound for Kids was founded and directed by educational specialists on the premise that:
- Parents and teachers have a joint responsibility for the education of children
- Academic achievement is ensured when there is some significant person available to consistently monitor, guide and assist student progress
- CBFK will act as a liaison between teacher, student and parent to provide additional time on-task to address individual student needs
- CBFK provides the structure for students to develop excellent study skills, efficient time management and responsible work habits to become independent learners
- This program focuses on closing the achievement gap by strengthening basic skills and addressing individual needs. These skills are essential to building self-esteem and confidence in mastering grade level standards.
- Concrete learning experiences are critical to understanding math concepts and developing mathematical reasoning
- Test taking skills and strategies are emphasized and practiced regularly, which result in higher test scores.
Our Objective
The main objective of College Bound for Kids (CBFK) is to prepare elementary and middle school students for a rigorous high school level College Preparatory Curriculum. Students will be given assistance in reading comprehension, mathematics, explicitly following directions, and the importance of completing homework assignments (extension and reinforcement of lessons taught during the school day). CBFK students gain self-confidence and enthusiastically produce improved quality work.
College Bound for Kids is dedicated to providing assistance and encouraging students to understand and complete assignments in an efficient manner.

_CBFK Staff
College Bound for Kids staff collaborates with superintendents, principals, teachers and parents to create enrichment programs for elementary and middle schools. CBFK employs professional administrators, teachers, specialists and college students who are trained to provide tutorial assistance to students. CBFK tutors are highly qualified and provide specialized services that will either enhance or remediate specific skills and concepts for individual students.
